Treasure Hunt GTA 5 Locations and Complete Guide

The GTA Online Treasure Hunt offers players an exciting scavenger hunt across San Andreas, rewarding successful adventurers with exclusive gear and cash bonuses. Initiated by an in-game email, this event sends players on a quest to uncover hidden clues scattered throughout the map. Understanding how the hunt works allows players to efficiently track down every location and secure their rewards.
Starting the Quest and Locating the First Clue
To begin the journey, players must wait for a random email sent to their in-game smartphone from [email protected]. This email contains a black-and-white photograph depicting one of twenty possible random locations in Los Santos or Blaine County. A large yellow search area will appear on your map, indicating the general region you need to explore.
Once you arrive at the designated zone, listen closely for a chiming sound that increases in volume as you get closer to the hidden clue. The first clue is typically a paper note attached to objects like rocks, walls, or wooden posts. Finding and inspecting this note completes the first stage of the search.
Uncovering the Three Fixed Clues
After finding the initial note, your map will update with three distinct yellow markers. Unlike the first clue, these three secondary locations are fixed for every player, though they can be visited in any order. Each location features a unique piece of evidence related to the mystery.
The three set clues include a small cave in Tongva Hills containing a corpse, a bloodied shovel at a dilapidated house near Sandy Shores, and an empty weapon case under a tree on Joad Lane. Inspecting each item grants a small monetary bonus and brings you closer to the final prize. Players looking for helpful gaming tools can check to enhance their experience.
Claiming the Final Treasure and Extra Rewards
Once all three fixed clues are investigated, the final location of the treasure chest is revealed on your map. Head over to the marked destination to find a locked chest resting near a settlement or landmark. Interacting with the chest unlocks the exclusive Double-Action Revolver for your inventory.
Unlocking the weapon also triggers a special Headshot Challenge in GTA Online. Successfully landing 50 headshots on NPCs or other players using the Double-Action Revolver awards a substantial bonus of $250,000 in-game cash. Additionally, completing this challenge unlocks the weapon in Red Dead Redemption 2 for linked Social Club accounts.
