How To Get Kawakami To Do Laundry Persona 5 Royal
Managing time efficiently in Persona 5 Royal is essential for maximizing social stats, leveling up confidants, and exploring Palaces. One of the best quality-of-life benefits comes from Sadayo Kawakami, who can handle chores like washing dirty armor while you spend your evening elsewhere. Unlocking this service saves valuable time and allows players to optimize their daily schedule without missing out on gear upgrades.
Unlocking Sadayo Kawakami as a Confidant
To begin using Kawakami's housekeeping services, you must first initiate her Confidant arc known as the Temperance Arcana. After clearing the first Palace and attending the Operation Maid Watch event with Ryuji and Mishima, talk to Kawakami at Shujin Academy the next day. You will need level 2 Guts to call her from the payphone in Leblanc during evening hours.
Each session costs 5,000 yen, so ensure you have sufficient funds before making the call. Spending time with her regularly is necessary to increase her Confidant rank. Bringing a Temperance Persona during hangouts will help speed up your progression through her ranks.
Reaching Rank 3 to Unlock Housekeeping Duties
Once you reach Rank 3 with Kawakami, her special skill called Housekeeping becomes active. This ability allows you to request her assistance to brew coffee or wash dirty laundry while you attend to other activities. Instead of spending your evening inside the laundromat, you can simply interact with the washing machine and call her to handle the chore.
Using this feature saves a full evening slot that would otherwise be spent waiting for the laundromat cycles to finish. Cleaned armor items often provide significant stat boosts and special defense attributes for your party. Delegating this task ensures your combat gear stays updated without slowing down your social calendar.
Unlocking Free Housekeeping Services at Rank 10
While paying 5,000 yen per request is reasonable early on, reaching Rank 10 completely removes this financial barrier. Her max rank ability, Special Massage, also allows you to go out at night after returning from a Metaverse exploration. Combining her laundry service with her evening massages provides ultimate flexibility for time management.
To hit the max rank, complete her Mementos request when it becomes available around Rank 8. Resolving her personal conflict unlocks the final rank, enabling free laundry service and evening freedom. This makes Kawakami one of the most practical Confidants to prioritize during any playthrough of Persona 5 Royal.
